Former Governor Chimaroke Nnamani of Enugu State, on Tuesday, emerged the winner of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Senatorial primary election held in Enugu East District.
DAILY POST reports that all the valid votes cast at the election went to the former Governor, who is currently representing the zone.
A total of 243 delegates took part in the primary election. The result was announced by the chairman of the PDP Election Committee, Mr. Chinedu Onuh.
It was gathered that one of the aspirants, Mr. Joshua Mba stepped down on the grounds that Nnamani is a political leader and had done so much for Nkanu land.
Another aspirant, Mrs. Ifeoma Nwobodo did not show up for the election.
