The Kogi State Government says it will soon begin a clampdown on illegal institutions across the State.
The State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Wemi Jones disclosed this on Monday while monitoring the accreditation exercise of the Glory Land Institution of Management Studies Ankpa by the National Board for Technical Education.
Jones warned illegal and substandard schools in the state to do the needful, pointing out that soon the state government will begin a clampdown on such educational institutions.#
According to him, there are about 20 illegal tertiary institutions in Ankpa without accreditation.
He added that the government will shut down the schools if they fail to become accreditated.
The Commissioner asked school operators to seek normalization and get their schools registered, to avoid being shut down by the government.
