As the organizers of the Face of Igbo Heritage Legend Awards FIHLA work to reach all nooks a crannies of the Igbo nation, the traditional rulers in Ebonyi State have commended the project.
During a courtesy visit to the Chairman South East and Ebonyi State Council of Traditional Rulers, His Royal Majesty Ezeogo Charles Mkpuma in Abakiliki, the monarch commended the organizers of the event for taking up the pains to revitalize Igbo language, culture, and tradition.
Ezeogo Charles Mkpuma who is the traditional ruler of the Ezzama Kingdom in Ebonyi State said that at a point when it is globally known that Igbo language especially is under the threat of extinction, it is commendable to see groups rising to the task of seeing to the survival of the core identity of the Igbo Nation.
He said that while the job of the revitalization of Igbo language, culture, and tradition lies on all sons and daughters of the tribe, it is important to note that they are doing their part by ensuring that nothing but Igbo language is used in the secretariate and during their proceedings.
Ezeogo Mkpuma waved off the propaganda that Igbo are not united, saying that whatever Igbos are facing is peculiar to other tribes in the country.
He added that Igbo have never been more united and there is nothing wrong with a group of people having diverse ambitions that make them a better and greater nation.
The founder of the Face of Igbo Heritage Legend International Foundation, Mazi Uzochukwu Nkweatu commended the monarch, adding that the FIHLA project is designed to unite Igbos globally.
Mazi Nkweatu said that while the project has been previously endorsed by the South-East Council of Traditional Rulers, fresh support that will enable the group to work closely with Traditional Rulers across all Igbo Nations will be welcomed.
He thanked the traditional rulers present at the secretariat, hailing Ezeogo Charles Mkpuma for the outstanding leadership he is bringing into both South East and Ebonyi State Council of Traditional Rulers.
Also present during the courtesy visit were HRH Eze Joseph Okafor, Deputy Chairman Ebonyi State Council of Traditional Rulers; HRH Eze Linus Nwizi, Second Deputy Chairman, Ebonyi State Council of Traditional Rulers; HRH Eze Martin Nwali Oyibe, Member State Executive Council of Trustees; HRH Eze Okpoto Michael Nwode; HRH Eze Omazi Ibo Ubani, Chairman Ebonyi South Traditional Rulers; and Ezeogo Umubue Onya Bassey Idam.
