The former Vice President and 2023 presidential aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Atiku Abubakar has said his visit to the South West has further reinforced his conviction that Nigerians are prepared for a leader who can unite the country.

Atiku who expressed gratitude to leaders and members of the party in the Southwest said he is inspired by the apparent commitment of the zone to forge a united Nigeria.

The 2019 PDP Presidential candidate made the remarks in a statement by his Media Adviser, Paul Ibe, Monday

Atiku said “the rousing welcome that the PDP presidential hopeful enjoyed during his 3-day tour of the Southwest further reinforces his conviction that Nigerians are prepared for a unification of the country.

Ibe quoted the former vice president as saying, “through my interactions with leaders and members of our party in the Southwest, I am more abreast with issues that are of utmost concern to the people of that region.

Atiku who thanked Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, the leader of the PDP in the Southwest, explained that contrary to media reports, “Governor Makinde and I met early Sunday morning in Ibadan before my departure for Osogbo, where we had a robust conversation.
