The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has smashed a syndicate of notorious motorcycle thieves terrorising the people of Jahun Local Government, Jigawa State.
NSCDC spokesman, Jigawa State command CSC Adamu Shehu confirmed this to DAILY POST.
He said the operatives of the NSCDC succeeded in arresting two of the syndicate members over their involvement in a case of Theft and Criminal Conspiracy contrary to sections 97 & 286 of the Penal Code Law.
Adamu said the suspects included a 24-year-old Mamman Garba and his accomplice, 20-year-old Ummi Sa’adu.
He explained that the suspects were arrested following a complaint lodged at the NSCDC Divisional office Jahun, that the suspects were specialized in deceiving their victims.
The suspects confessed to have run away with six motorcycles of different types and disposed of them.
Adamu said investigation had also led to the arrest of five others that are receiving the stolen motorcycles.
“The suspects will be charged to court after investigation,” he said.
