Ekiti State Government on Tuesday dismissed the damning rigging allegation against Governor Kayode Fayemi.
Former All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole had on Monday said Fayemi demanded rigging in his favour.
A statement by Fayemi’s spokesman, Yinka Oyebode said the claim was false, puerile, laughable and a figment of imagination.
Oyebode noted that his principal never sought any favour for electoral fraud for himself or anyone else.
“Oshiomhole is still experiencing a Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) on account of his removal as APC chairman”, he said.
The aide told Oshiomhole that Fayemi did not engineer his ouster as leader of the ruling party.
Oyebode said the Ekiti helmsman had always considered Oshiomhole a friend and political associate.
“No amount of mudslinging from disenchanted individuals would distract or discourage him.”
The rejoinder challenged the former Edo Governor to provide “verifiable evidence of his unsubstantiated claims”.
