Engineer Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe has emerged as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Oyo South Senatorial District.
Our correspondent reports that Chief Bisi Ilaka has also emerged as the candidate of the party in the Oyo Central Senatorial District.
Ilaka, a native of Oyo is a former Chief of Staff to Governor Seyi Makinde.
Tegbe and Ilaka emerged as PDP candidates in Oyo South and Central at the primary elections held on Monday.
The elections were held at different locations in Ibadan, the state capital.
The election that produced Tegbe was held in the Ijokodo area of Ibadan North Local Government Area while the election that produced Ilaka was held along Ojoo expressway in the Akinyele Local Government Area of Ibadan.
There are nine local government areas in Oyo South while there are eleven local government areas in Oyo Central.
Our correspondent gathered that Tegbe scored 296 votes during the primary election.
The results of the elections were announced Monday evening. The returning officer, Bolanle Oladeji, declared Tegbe the winner of the election.
