Former Chelsea star, Glen Johnson, has urged the club’s manager, Thomas Tuchel, to try and sign 2021 FIFA Best Men’s Player, Robert Lewandowski.

Lewandowski shocked the world when he confirmed that he would not be signing a new contract with Bayern Munich this summer after another stunning season in which he broke the 40-goal mark and helped the German giants to another League title.

It is believed that Bayern Munich do not want to pay Lewandowski the kind of wages that he desires – around the £600,000-a-week mark.

The Bundesliga champions have given up hope of keeping hold of the Polish striker, so they have decided that they will allow him to leave for a fee this summer rather than nothing next summer.

That has led to a lot of speculation that the likes of Chelsea, Barcelona, Man United and even Liverpool have all been linked with a move for the forward.

“In terms of the player himself, then yes. But business-wise, what that might do to [Romelu] Lukaku, if he is not playing, where is he going to go, how much is he going to be worth,” Johnson told Betting Odds.

“They bought him for an awful lot of money. But at the same time, if they give him another six months and he doesn’t perform, then they might miss out on the top four. It’s a tough one.
