Pastor Tunde Bakare of The Citadel Global Community Church, polled zero votes in the just concluded All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential primaries.

After spending N100 million to purchase the nomination and expression of interest form of the APC, the senior pastor did not bother to travel around for consultations with party leaders or national delegates in their states.

Bakare, however, vowed to win the 2022 presidential primary of the ruling party and become the 16th president of Nigeria.

The primary election was, however, won by former Governor of Lagos State and National Leader of the APC, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Tinubu scored 1070 votes to defeat his closest challenger and former Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi, who scored 238. Vice president, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo came third on 177 votes.

“But I am not stepping down for anyone.

“I am here by the grace of God to step up and contest to become the 16th president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
