Shehu Sani, a popular socio-political commentator, on Monday suggested ways to crush terrorist groups operating in the Northern part of the country.

Sani said terrorists in the Northern part of the country would be crushed when the masses are trained and armed to combat them.

Bandits, Boko Haram insurgents, and the Islamic State in West Africa Province, ISWAP, have been terrorizing the Northern part of the country.

To this end, the Zamfara State Governor, Bello Matawalle, had directed residents of the state, particularly farmers, to acquire guns to defend themselves.

Reacting, the former Kaduna Central Senator supported the government’s decision asking residents to arm themselves.

“Terror groups operating in Northern Nigeria will be crushed and extinguished when the masses are organized, trained and armed to fight them. They ceaselessly kill our farmers, and attack our worship places and schools.

“I support Zamfara State arming the masses to defend their villages,” Sani tweeted
