Governor Gboyega Oyetola of Osun has appealed to the electorate not to sell their votes at the upcoming July 16 governorship election in the state.

Mr Oyetola said this at his reelection campaign in Iperindo town, Atakumosa East Local Government Area of the state, where he said that selling one’s vote can amount to selling one’s future for a piece meal.

Mr Oyetola, while appealing to the electorate to vote for him and the All Progressives Congress (APC), urged them not to sell their votes to any party.

The governor also urged the electorate to collect their Permanent Voter Cards, which he described as their power to reelect him.

“Please if you have not collected your PVC, ensure you do so from tomorrow. It is not proper for members of our party not to have PVC.

“Don’t allow the opposition to  deceive you. They don’t have anything to offer you and don’t sell your vote, doing so will amount to selling your future,” he said.

The governor also said that APC would replicate in Osun the same victory it secured in Ekiti, saying, “I trust in God for the forthcoming election and you need to vote for us.

“Are you not happy about our victory in Ekiti, both states are from the same region and our party will excel more than the results of the Ekiti election.

“Let us work toward that and pray. Don’t panic but rather, let’s continue to work and pray for our victory,” he said.

In his remarks, the Director-General of Oyetola Campaign Organisation, Ajibola Bashiru, urged party members to embark on a house-to-house campaign for Mr Oyetola’s reelection.
