The Ekiti State Government has assured residents of the state of safety following the terror attack in Owo, Ondo State where innocent worshipers were killed during a holy Mass on Pentecost Sunday.

The State Commissioner for Information and Values Orientation, Mr. Akin Omole in a statement in Ado Ekiti, said the state government would continue to effectively deploy all available security apparatus and work with relevant security agencies to guarantee a safe environment for the people.

Urging the people to go about their businesses without fear of intimidation, Omole emphasized the need for citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity or movement to relevant security agencies.

The Commissioner also urged the people to refrain from acts that may breach the peace and other illegal activities, adding that such disorderly conduct would be counter-productive and capable of impeding efforts of the government to guarantee safety.

He expressed condolences to the government and people of Ondo State on the loss of lives in the horrendous terror attack.

The statement reads: “The Government of Ekiti State commiserates with the Government and people of Ondo State over the vile attack and extends condolences and prayers to the victims of the terror attack and their families.

“Such act of terrorism is indeed an attack on the whole of our people, values and development and should be treated as such.

“We urge all security agencies to be vigilant and take proactive measures in warding off any such attack, while also urging the citizens to remain calm and vigilant, as the state government would continue to do its best in ensuring safety and security of lives, properties and investments”.
