The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Imo State has concluded its rescheduled primary elections to select candidates to fly the party’s flag for Orlu, Orsu and Oru East Federal Constituency, Ahiazu Mbaise, and Orlu State Constituency.

In the re-run election which was conducted at the party secretariat, Owerri elected two candidates for state assembly and one candidate for House of Representatives.

The flag bearers for the House of Assembly seats include Hon. Rex Okoro (Ahiazu Mbaise), Ifeanyi Nwadikwa (Orlu State Constituency), and Hon Onyegbule Kingsley Uchenna for Oru East/Orsu/Orlu Federal Constituency of Imo State.

Reacting to his victory, an elated Rex Okoro who emerged as the party candidate for Ahiazu Mbaise for the second time appreciated delegates, party leaders, and elders for trusting him with their mandate and called for unity among the party fateful to win the general election in 2023.

In his acceptance speech, Onyegbule Kingsley, the Oru East/Orsu/Orlu Federal Constituency PDP candidate, thanked the party’s leadership and delegates for their support and asked other contenders to join him in the struggle to ensure victory for the party in 2023.
