Haruna Abubakar Magaji has defeated incumbent House of Representatives member, Hon. Abubakar Lado Abdullah to win the All Progressives Congress, APC, primary election for the seat of Suleja/Gurara/Tafa Federal Constituency in Niger State.

Recall that the earlier scheduled primary election, which was to hold on May 27 in Suleja, for the constituency slot was cancelled over alleged violence and irregularities.

However, the primaries was held on Tuesday, May 31 under tight security with about 120 delegates of the Constituency after being screened.

The secretary of the electoral committee, Isyaku Lawal, announced the results after sorting and counting the ballot papers.

Haruna Abubakar Magaji popularly known as ARAFAT scored 116 votes beating the incumbent Member, Hon. Abubakar Lado Abdullahi who got four votes to the ticket of the Suleja/Gurara/Tafa Federal Constituency.

The other two aspirants to the seat, include Alh. Ado Abubakar, who got zero votes and Attahiru Musa, who also scored zero.

The party primaries, which was monitored by security agents, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials, and APC Chairmen of Suleja, Gurara, and Tafa local government areas described the exercise as free, fair, and credible in the area.
