A member representing Idah/Ibaji/Ofu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, David Idris Zacharias has reacted to the outcome of the primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC) across Kogi State.
Speaking with journalists in Abuja on Thursday, he described the processes leading to the primaries of various levels across the State as most free and fair.
Zacharias who won his return ticket recalled that governor Yahaya Bello at each meeting with party stakeholders insisted on due process and the creation of a level playing field for all aspirants to test their popularity.
The lawmaker also explained that the APC leadership in Kogi State ensured that all contestants were carried along at each process despite, the campaign of calumny against some party members because of political interests.
“I recalled that the governor has often told the party leadership and all those who aspire for offices from the State Assembly to the National Assembly that there would be a level playing field for everyone which is exactly what happened.”
Speaking on those who lost a return ticket, the lawmaker in the lower legislative Chamber said, there is no winner, nor a loser, calling on them to join hands to work for the success of the APC, noting that there was always another day.
“To my constituents and delegates, I commend them for their understanding and commitment to the APC at each ward, each polling unit and by the grace of God, more dividends of democracy would be provided for them”, he said.
