Long queues of cars, motorcycles and tricycles have resurfaced in major parts of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

DAILY POST correspondent, who went round major parts of Ibadan, on Wednesday observed that long queues of both private and commercial vehicles have resurfaced in all the petroleum stations in the ancient city.

Some of the areas visited included Bodija, Mokola, Sabo, Agodi Gate, Secretariat Road and Total Garden.

Others are Sango, Dugbe, Iyaganku and Queen Elizabeth Road.

The rest are Apete, Awotan, Ijokodo, Polytechnic Road and Adamasingba.

Private cars and commercial vehicles were seen joining long queues in all the petroleum stations visited.

The reason for the panic buying could not be established.

Efforts made by DAILY POST to know the reason for the sudden queues from the petroleum attendants also proved abortive as they too said that they were just seeing residents trooping to their stations.

“We don’t know. We are just seeing the people coming.

“Our own is to sell. We don’t know why the people are coming.

“We are still selling at the normal price. But, we cannot send people away,” one of the pump attendants said.

DAILY POST gathered that the long queues are still in all the petroleum stations in most parts of Ibadan as at the time of filing this report on Thursday.

However, all efforts made by DAILY POST to get a reaction from the Chairman, Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), Oyo State branch, Mr. Bukola Mutiu, since Wednesday, were unsuccessful.
