Manchester United duo, Erik ten Hag and John Murtough, are both in agreement over signing two defenders this summer.

This comes after Man United failed to land Ajax defender, Jurrien Timber.

Timber, had, until recently, been expected to move to Man United, but he’s now primed to stay at Ajax instead amid fears switching to the Red Devils will damage his hopes of making his country’s World Cup squad to Qatar later this year.

While Ten Hag is content to have Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof and Raphael Varane at his disposal, the club are open to selling Eric Bailly, Axel Tuanzebe and Phil Jones.

Man United had been expected to land Timber, but that is now unlikely, with the Netherlands international reluctant to move as the World Cup in Qatar creeps ever closer.

According to Manchester Evening News, Ten Hag and Murtough are in agreement when it comes to two potential alternatives.
