In a statement made available to DAILY POST on Wednesday, the Ohanaeze Youth Council said Ugwuanyi had continued to distinguish himself in the area of youth empowerment.

In the statement signed by the OYC President-General, Mazi Okwu Nnabuike and the Secretary-General, Comrade Obinna Achionye, they noted that the Governor had endeared himself to the youth constituency.

The group said it was a thing of delight that, “at a time the economy is biting hard, Governor Ugwuanyi is still making waves in human empowerment.

“We must salute the Governor for his continuous interest in the affairs of the youths, the reason the State has remained stable and peaceful.

“What Governor Ugwuanyi is doing in Enugu State is one that should be emulated by his fellow governors in the South-East.

“Within a very short period of time, hundreds of youths have benefited from one form of empowerment or the other from the Enugu State Government, in the areas of training, skill acquisition, education, appointment, among others.

“Ugwuanyi’s Government, right from his first tenure, appointed youths into several important positions, and the tempo has continued.

“The entire youths are pleased with the Governor’s efforts and this will certainly help in sustaining the enduring peace in the Coal City State,” the group stated.

The Ohanaeze youths urged the Governor to sustain the tempo “especially in this period of despair caused by the worsening economic situation of the country.”
