A 40-year-old man, Bola Awolumate has been paraded by Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Osun State Command for allegedly impersonating Nigerian Immigration Officer.

The Osun State Commandant of NSCDC, Adisa Agboola, according to a statement signed by Osun NSCDC spokesperson, ASC II Olabisi Atanda noted that the suspect was arrested on Monday in Oke-Abesu, Osogbo, the State capital.

Awolumate allegedly disguised as a Nigerian Immigration Officer and collected N570,000 from four persons with a promise to secure visa to Norway and Saudi Arabia and further promised to secure employment for one of the complainants.

Atanda said the suspect confessed to the crime.

“The suspect was arrested by four members of the public who lodged a complaint that borders on the above mentioned offenses on the 25th July, 2022.

“The suspect was paraded at the State Headquarters after he volunteered a confessional statement confirming his culpability in the offenses,” he said.

Agboola maintained that the suspect after thorough investigation, would be charged to a court of competent jurisdiction where justice would be meted to serve as deterrent to other syndicates.
