The Zamfara State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has lamented that the ruling All progressive Congress (APC) has failed woefully to bring dividends of democracy to the people.

Addressing newsmen at the ADC Secretariat in Gusau, the State capital, the State chairman of the party, Hon. Kabiru Garba said that the ruling APC had forced innocent citizens to be reaping thorns in their apple farms.

Garba explained that the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) who Zamfara State government claimed to be caring for, have taken to the streets begging for food and alms as the government cannot care for them.

“ADC leadership in the State have been assisting the IDPs with some essential commodities, encouraging them to obtain or revalidate their PVCs,” he said.

According to him, ADC will capitalize on APC’s lapses to secure victory in the State, pointing out that his party had designed formidable strategies to wrestle power from the ruling party.

“APC should not think that it will be business as usual because Zamfara people are now wiser than before as they have undergone and are still undergoing torture, insecurity, hunger and starvation.

“We are now mobilizing the youths and women who are the voting powers everywhere to work with us to unseat the ruling party so as to reposition Zamfara State,” he boasted.

He noted that the pressure on APC had become so much that the party had been negotiating for merger for soft landing, saying that ADC will not be ready for any merger with any party in the State.

Garba warned that the ruling APC should begin to pack their loads from the Government House as the electorates would be ready to revolt against them through the ballot box in 2023 general elections.

“2023 general elections will be the time of reckoning when APC leaders will reap what they have sown, not only in the State but in Nigeria generally,” he declared.
