First Lady, Aisha Buhari, has reacted to the demise of her associate and ex-deputy national woman leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mrs Kemi Nelson.
DAILY POST reports that Nelson, a former executive director of Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF), died at 66 following a protracted illness.
Mrs Buhari, who expressed sadness via her official Instagram account on Thursday, prayed that Almighty God would repose the soul of the deceased.
She, therefore, used the opportunity to sympathise with the APC’s presidential candidate, Sen. Bola Tinubu, over Nelson’s death.
Aisha said, “I received with sadness, the news of passing away of Mrs Kemi Nelson, late Kemi was my associate, a pioneer women Leader of APC in South-West Zone.
“The deceased made an enormous contribution to the stability of our political party and its victory in the elections.
“I offer my condolences to her family, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and to the people of Lagos State over this huge loss and pray that her soul finds eternal rest.”
Recall that Nelson was appointed to NSITF by President Muhammadu Buhari in 2019, a position she held until May 2021.
