The Abia State Internal Revenue Service has suspended the appointment of Azubuike Ihuoma Erondu, a Commissioned Revenue Collector, for allegedly collecting the Unified Emblem levies.

It was also alleged that Erondu had consistently carried out the collection of the Unified Emblems levies without adopting ABIRS e-ticket/e- emblems, upload system rules.

The suspension was contained in a letter endorsed by the Acting Chairman/Chief Executive of the revenue service, Agbara Celestine and made available to newsmen in Umuahia, the state capital.

It was gathered that Erondu, had flagrantly flouted laid down regulations, code of conduct, ethics in collections and enforcement of compliance of the revenue windows.

The ABIRS boss equally faulted Erondu for reverting to the hackneyed understanding with Abia State Passenger Integrated Manifest Scheme (ASPIM) against the settled understanding while his appointment with ABIRS subsisted.
