Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag, has ruled out any possibility of the club selling Cristiano Ronaldo this summer.
Ten Hag said Ronaldo is not for sale, adding that the Portugal captain is in his plan for the upcoming 2022/23 season.
The Dutchman said this ahead of Man United’s pre-season friendly tie against Liverpool on Tuesday.
DAILY POST reports that Ronaldo has been heavily linked with a move away from Man United this summer.
The 37-year-old has drawn the interest of Chelsea, Barcelona, and Bayern Munich in the past few days.
The former Real Madrid and Juventus star has reportedly told the Red Devils that he wants to leave the club amid concern the club will not play in the Champions League next season.
“Cristiano Ronaldo is NOT for sale, he is in our plans – he’s not with us due to personal issues. We are planning with Cristiano Ronaldo for this season, that’s it,” Ten Hag was quoted by Fabrizio Romano as saying at his pre-match press conference ahead of Man United’s clash with Liverpool.
“How to make Cristiano happy? I don’t know – I’m looking forward to work with him”.
