The Super Eagles 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying double-header against the Djurtus of Guinea-Bissau in September may be postponed to next year, according to reports.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has already postponed the 2023 AFCON to January 2024.
The competition was originally scheduled to hold in June 2023 in Cote d’Ivoire.
The Super Eagles are expected to face Guinea-Bissau in a match day three fixtures in September.
The shift of the qualifiers in September will allow for the five African teams that will participate at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, prepare adequately for the Mundial.
The global soccer fiesta will take place in Qatar in November.
