The Taraba State police command, on Thursday, said it would deploy over 3,500 of its personnel to provide security across the nooks and crannies of the State during Sallah celebration.
The Commissioner, Abimbola Shokoya, who stated this while briefing media practitioners shortly after the joint security meeting which was presided over by the Deputy Governor, Engineer Haruna Manu, said all the security agencies have already deployed several numbers of their personnel for the same purpose.
The security meeting, which took place at the office of the deputy governor, Thursday, was observed to have witnessed the presence of the entire security chiefs in the state.
The Commissioner, who spoke on behalf of the security chiefs, said, “we have just concluded the Taraba State security meeting and the main issue discussed is how we can have a crime free Sallah celebration.”
The command, in collaboration with sister agencies, he said, has drawn out elaborate operational order and strategies to checkmate the activities of the undesirable elements during the period.
He said the police are deploying over 3,500 officers and men for the Sallah celebration.
Speaking on the activities of bandits in Karim-Lamido Local Government Council of the State, relative peace, according to him, had returned to the council.
Seven soldiers, it would be recalled, were recently killed in an ambush by bandits in the council.
