A Political Science lecturer at the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Dr. Mo-molamed Dusmana on Tuesday berated the federal government for making comments that would further jeopardize and create fear in the polity.
He said the All Progressive Congress Party (APC) government had pushed everyone into a journey of no return, as poverty, slavery, and criminal attacks have become the order of the day.
He was reacting to the president’s comment in a statement by his SSA on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu while receiving some governors of the APC, legislators, and political leaders at his residence in Daura, Katsina State, during the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations, claiming he was “eager to go.”
Dr. Mo-molamed who is Nigerian by birth said the country was a bit better when he started lecturing but immediately after the APC took over, things became worse.
He said no matter the situation, a president ought to have encouraged Nigerians by giving them hope, even where there is no hope.
“For a president, who is equal to, as a father of the nation, to start creating fear, putting people in perpetual fear, it means he has nothing to offer Nigerians.” He said.
He said lecturers have since downed tools, bandits attack keep spreading, job loses, and University students are still at home, yet, the president has not thought of how to solve all these problems.
Dr. Mo-molamed who said he is already waiting for an air ticket to his country home said he could not wait for any negotiation whatsoever as he sees nothing coming out of it.
