Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike on Tuesday broke his usual tradition of inviting special guests to commission his projects in the state.

The governor commissioned the newly constructed VIP lounge at the Port Harcourt International Airport.

This is despite having Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State present during the commissioning ceremony.

At the end of his speech, Governor Wike who would usually invite the special guest of honor to speak to the people and commission the project just told the Bauchi Governor to accompany him cut the ribbon.

Speaking earlier Governor Wike expressed fears that Federal Airport Authority may not be able to maintain the facility and therefore called on the contractor of the project to forward to him the “cost of maintaining the project”.

Wike had recently been criticized for bringing members of the ruling All Progressives Congress to commission his projects.
