Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have killed one Abdulmalik Tukur, a graduate of Modibbo Adama University (MAU), Yola, Adamawa State, after collecting N500,000 ransom.

A source close to the family told DAILY POST in Kaduna, on Monday, that the victim who completed his NYSC this year, 2022, was kidnapped alongside others.

According to him, the 32-year-old victim, who completed his service year in Plateau State, just returned to his father’s house in Vinkilang community, on the outskirts of Yola, before he was kidnapped alongside six others.

He said although other victims were released upon payment of N400,000 ransom, a ransom of N5,000,000 was placed on Tukur.

According to him, after several hours of negotiation, it was agreed that N500,000 should be paid as ransom.

He said the money was taken to the bandits in their forest.

“Unfortunately, as the victim turned to leave, they shot him, killing him instantly,” the source said.

SP Sulaiman Nguroje, the spokesman for the Adamawa Police Command, said he was yet to receive any report on the incident
