The Sokoto State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), on Tuesday, said it has impounded 35 unregistered motorcycles.

In a statement on Tuesday, Kabiru Nadabo, the Sector Commander, said the arrest was part of the measures aimed at tackling security challenges in the country.

Kabiru Nadabo, who said the arrest was not for revenue generation motive alone, rather it was aimed at curtailing attacks on communities, as motorcycles are commonly used for bandits’ attacks and other criminalities.

According to him, the enforcement would be extended to other parts of the State so as to curtail the excessive bandits’ attacks.

He said once the owners of the ceased motorcycles complete their registration, they would be released to them, adding that the command had liaised with the internal revenue board to ensure that the registration processes were made easy for the owners.
