The Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, will be inaugurating its Airport Park and Pay Automated Car Parking Service as it turns 40 years, September 29, 2022.
It will be inaugurated by the Managing Director, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, Capt. Rabiu Yadudu.
This was contained in a statement signed by the acting General Manager, Corporate Affairs, Faithful Hope-Ivbaze, made available to our correspondent on Tuesday.
According to the statement, the airport has developed into a hub for the North-Central region of Nigeria and beyond.
“The airport prides in the possession of world-class airport facilities including a brand new international terminal with a passenger handling capacity of 15 million per annum inaugurated by the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd)-led administration in December, 2018, a recently rehabilitated domestic terminal, as well as a haji/cargo terminal,” she said.
The airport, which was awarded Best Airport in safety in 2018 by Airport Council International, also received the ACI’s Airport Service Quality Award in 2020, amongst several other recognitions.
Furthermore, in marking the milestones achieved these years, the celebration of the 40th anniversary would hold at the airport on September 29, 2022, adding that passengers, stakeholders and former managers of the airport would also receive awards for their contributions to the development of the airport.
Hope-Ivbaze said, “The hallmark of the event will be inaugurating park of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airports Park & Pay Automated Car Parking Service by the Managing Director of Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, Capt. Rabiu Hamisu Yadudu.”
