Kano State Consumer Protection Council (KSCPC) has discovered dead animals at Unguwa Uku Yan Awaki Abattoir in Tarauni Local Government Area.
Acting Managing Director, Baffa Babba-Dan’agundi made the announcement in a statement by spokesman, Musbahu Yakasai.
The council was tipped with the information about the animals at about 6:00 a.m. on Monday.
The informants revealed that some dead goats and rams were brought to the Abattoir.
“They became suspicious that they (animals) were already dead before slaughter.
“Our team immediately swung into action and seized the animals,” Babba-Dan’agundi said.
The council invited a veterinary doctor who confirmed the animals were not fit for human consumption.
The statement vowed that the culprits will be dealt with accordingly.
