The Police in Lagos have arrested an ex-convict, Emmanuel Sunday, for alleged traffic robbery in Ketu, Kosofe Local Government Area.

Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin announced the arrest in a statement.

Sunday, notorious for dispossessing motorists of their belongings, was apprehended by the Rapid Response Squad (RRS).

He was caught when RRS officials working undercover spotted him while trying to dispossess a motorist of his phone at Ojota Underbridge.

The police spokesman said the 32-year-old revealed he was recently released from prison.

He was nabbed by the Alapere Police Division earlier in the year for stealing, and was sentenced to a three-month jail term in Kirikiri Correctional Centre.

Sunday’s arrest followed the deployment of undercover officers to comb areas with incidences of traffic robbery, Hundeyin added.
