The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has reacted to the confusion over the sale of two forfeited buildings in Lagos.

The properties are a four-bedroom bungalow on Adeniyi Jones in Ikeja and a five-bedroom duplex on Amadasun Street in Ikoyi.

Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola had complained that the properties were sold underpriced.

Fashola spoke after the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting on Wednesday.

The official said the buyer should have paid N18 million for the bungalow and N21 million for the duplex being the value of the properties in 2001.

NDLEA Media Director, Femi Babafemi said some platforms erroneously reported that the buildings were sold in 2021.

The spokesman said there had been calls by concerned members of the public to clarify the mix-up in the year of sale.

“For clarity purposes, NDLEA did not auction any property in 2021 or 2022”, his statement added.
