Former Minister of Aviation, Osita Chidoka, said endorsement of candidates from other political parties is “consistent” with Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike’s style of politics.

Chidoka was speaking in reaction to the endorsement of Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwolu for a second term by Wike.

Gov. Wike made the endorsement during a conference of the Committee of Wives of Lagos State officials in Lagos on Monday.

Speaking on Channels TV Politics Today on Tuesday, Chidoka, who is also a special adviser to the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, said Wike did the same thing during the Anambra State governorship election.

According to Chidoka “This is not the first time he’s doing it. In Anambra, during the Anambra governorship election, he did not support the PDP candidate. He said it’s against his conscience to fight against his friend who was running for governor.

“I believe that this is consistent with his style and he’s at liberty to choose who he wants to endorse.”

Chidoka further noted that it “is not morally right to be wearing the flag of the party. You served that government as a minister, you became governor under the same PDP and now you’re endorsing candidates outside of the PDP.

“I think there’s a morality issue here”.

The former Minister also advised that the PDP must devise a way to deal with such behaviours in the party.
