Dr Yusuf Baba-Ahmed, the running mate to Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party, has advised party members in the country to shun ethnic and religious politics for peaceful coexistence.
Making the call while addressing party members in Bauchi, Baba-Ahmed stated that they should focus on credible candidates without religious and ethnic sentiments for the country’s interest.

He also advised members of the party to shun religious politics and avoid the instigation of ethnicity but to conduct themselves in an orderly manner ahead of the general elections in 2023.

The presidential running mate said, “I am in Bauchi to encourage you people not to relent on the efforts you are putting in for the labour party in the country.”

He urged them not to be confused with religious and ethnicity issues, explaining that politics is not about religion else, they should allow the clerics to rule.

Baba-Ahmed is the opinion that if Nigerians shunned religious and ethnic politics, it would not only promote peace but lead to the emergence of competent leaders in the country for its rapid development.

The Chairman, Labour Party Bauchi State, Mr Hussaini Saraki, assured of continued mobilisation of members and the public on the credentials of the presidential candidate and his running mate for their victory in the 2023 election.

The Chairman ‘OBIDATTI Coalition’, Mr Abel Musa, explained that the coalition was going on with contact and mobilisation of voters for the party and its candidates towards ensuring the success of the party in the 2023 election.
