Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, on Sunday, condemned the lynching of two herders by mob in Birni Gwari LGA of the state.

DAILY POST recalls that two herders suspected to be informants to bandits were lynched by mobs in Birnin Gwari LGA.

Following this, Governor Nasir El-Rufai, warned residents in the LGA not to take law into their hands by lynching a suspect.

In a statement on Sunday, Mr. Samuel Aruwan Commissioner, Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Kaduna State, said the governor, while condemning the mob action, cautioned residents to be law-abiding and stop action that may lead to violence and total breakdown of law and order.

El-Rufai, while expressing deep concern over the mob attack on two herders, further advised residents to desist from extra-judicial killings.

He further pointed out that the only way to express grievances and criminal-related issues is to report to law enforcement agents for immediate action.

The statement further appealed to families of the victims to remain calm and directed security agencies to conduct thorough investigations towards fishing out the perpetrators.
