The Labour Party (LP) has announced plans to release a supplementary list for its 2023 presidential campaign council.

The National Chairman, Julius Abure made this known at the end of the Expanded National Working Committee (NWC) meeting in Abuja.

The leadership, which met to review its political activities in recent times, made some resolutions and adjustments.

Abure said Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) Presidents, Ayuba Wabba and Festus Osifo have been removed.

He also confirmed that retired General John Enenche, ex-Director of Defence Information and Coordinator of Defence Media, has also been dropped.

The chairman said they were removed from the campaign council because they were erroneously included.

“This will be corrected and a supplementary list released before the inauguration of the council.

“Also corrected is the erroneous inclusion of Nigeria Labour Congress and the Trade Union Congress members in the Campaign list.”

In reaction to the criticisms against the list, Abure reiterated the party’s commitment to gender, youth and social inclusion.

The LP further condemned the attacks on Peter Obi’s supporters in Kano, Kaduna, Plateau, Enugu, Ebonyi and Katsina States.

There are speculations that Obasanjo may be supporting Obi to become President in 2023. The duo met in Abuja this week.
