A 33- year-old man, Emmanuel Orji, was on Friday docked in an Ikeja Chief Magistrate’s Court for allegedly ”groping” a minor, NAN reports.

The defendant, a trader who resides at 33, Apena St., Ago Okota, Lagos is charged with indecent assault and an attempt to defile.

The Prosecution Counsel, ASP Raji Akeem, told the court that the offence was committed on September 7 at the accused’s residence.

Akeem said the defendant lured the 11-year-old girl to his shop and groped her.

The offence, he said, contravened the provisions of sections 135 and 262 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs B. O Osunsanmi, admitted the defendant to bail of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum. Osunsanmi adjourned the case until October 30 for mention.
