The Niger State Governor and Chairman, North Central States Governors Forum, Alh. Abubakar Sani Bello has called on citizens of the state to participate positively in all the democratic processes that will usher in another administration in the country.
The Governor, in a statement to mark the celebration of Eid-el-Maulud, reminded them of the need to come out and be politically active during the periods ahead of the election.
He urged the Muslim Ummah to always show humility, tolerance, gratitude, care, and love to one another, as they are some of the most important virtues that guarantee peaceful co-existence and progress of any society.
“The Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) had lived an exemplary life worthy of emulation by all adherents of the religion. I am calling all on them to use the occasion of the prophet’s birth and reflect on the essential lessons of his life and times,” he said.
Bello reminded the Muslim Ummah that humanity is fast losing its essence because of the obvious disregard for the teachings and practice of religions.
He explained that the Prophet’s servitude, exemplary conduct, and leadership qualities should serve as the righteous path which every leader and follower would want to follow.
According to him, “Indeed, our socio-political and economic well-being will be better of and the whole world a better place to live in if we imbibe the exemplary virtues and practically apply the teachings and practice of the noble Prophet (SAW).”
He also urged them to continue to be law-abiding, prayerful, patient, and optimistic that the present administration in the state and the country would continue to bring necessary interventions that would enhance the socio-economic well-being of citizens.
