The Labour Party (LP) candidate for Orlu state constituency, Comrade Precious Nwadike has appointed Chief Mike Mbama, a retired Assistant Director of State Security Service (SSS) as the Director General of his campaign organization, PRENCO.
Comrade Nwadike, in a letter to that effect described Chief Mbama, a former two time President General of his community, Amaifeke, in Orlu Local Government Area, as a distinguished personality, who through dint of hard work and tenacity of purpose attained an enviable height in the society through which he contributed and has continued to contribute enormously to the socio-political and economic development of Orlu, Imo State and Nigeria at large.
According to Nwadike, the resolve to liberate Orlu LGA from the suffocating stranglehold of bad, inept and purposeless leadership is a collective project, hence his resolve to co-opt seasoned technocrats focused and result- oriented personalities with unblemished track record like Mbama and others of like mind to ensure success.
Mbama’s letter of appointment reads in part, ‘’ after due and painstaking consultation with stakeholders of our party and other interest groups , you have been found worthy to lead our campaign ahead of the 2023 election.
“I am optimistic that you will deploy your wealth of experience and exposure garnered over time towards ensuring victory for not just our team but for the entire Orlu electorate who earnestly yearn for effective, purposeful and people- oriented leadership that will enhance the dispensation of the much elusive dividends of democracy for the good of the people and to the Glory of God.
Chief Mbama’s appointment is coming barely 5 days after the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC published the final list of eligible candidates for the 2023 election, which incidentally captured Comrade Precious Nwadike as the candidate of Labour Party for Orlu State constituency, a development that has continued to elicit wide- spread excitement and jubilation among the Orlu electorate.
Mbama, a respected grassroots mobilizer who hails from Amaifeke, Orlu was due to his impressive record of achievements for the period he held sway, was later appointed as Patron of the community.
As at the time of filing this reports, it was not yet clear when Precious Nwadike Campaign organization, PRENCO would be formally inaugurated.
However, an insider source who spoke to this reporter said, ‘’Comrade Precious Nwadike who is constantly worried and concerned about the pitiable plight, pains and suffering of Orlu people as a result of bad leadership and ineffective representation is not leaving anything to chance. He will from all indications inaugurate his campaign organization alongside that of Orlu Restoration Movement (ORM) which is brain child any moment from now.
