The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party for Oyo South Senatorial District, Chief Joseph Tegbe, has promised to give a vibrant representation to the people of the constituency if elected into the senate in the 2023 election.

Tegbe, who was a governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress before defecting to the PDP, said this on Monday in Ibadan, when he joined Islamic faithful across Oyo State to celebrate this year’s Eid-il-Maulud, with a pledge to continue to prioritise their welfare.

The Maulud Nabbyyi programme, which was organised by the League of Imams and Alfas in Ibadan North-East Local Government Area of the state, was held at Iwo Road Central Mosque.

Various Islamic leaders, who spoke at the event, expressed concern over what they called lack of accessibility by successive representatives of the senatorial district at the upper legislative chamber.

They, however, commended Tegbe for his support for the Muslim community and others over the years including the less privileged during festivities.

The senatorial candidate, who solicited for the support of the Muslim Ummah for his senatorial ambition, said that he
would continue to be available and accessible and would also prioritise their welfare if elected as senator during the 2023 general elections.

Tegbe pledged continued hajj sponsorship of Muslim faithful and donation of a bus to the League of Imams and Alfas for smooth running of its activities.
