Police in Jigawa State have arrested two suspected drug dealers in Yandutse village of Ringim Local Government Area.

The State commissioner of police, CP. Emmanuel Ekot Effiom confirmed this in a statement issued to newsmen.

He said the suspects were arrested on 18/10/2022 at about 1800hrs following a tip-off.

Effiom explained that the team of policemen arrested 21-year-old Uzairu Adamu from Yandutse village in Ringim LGA, with ten (10) and half bags of dry leaves suspected to be Indian hemp in his room.

Effiom said after interrogation, the suspect confessed to having received the exhibits from one Zaidu Galadima, a truck driver from the Malamawa village, Ringim area.

He said the two suspects were arrested and the case is still under investigation at SCID Dutse.

He said preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects had been on the wanted list of NDLEA.

The CP said the suspects will be handed over to the NDLEA for further investigation after which they will be charged in court.
