The presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Party (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, made a surprise appearance at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, where the 3rd Ministerial Retreat is taking place.
He seized the opportunity to assure the participants that he will work to further the progressive objectives of the ruling party.
The ministerial retreat is organised to review performance of the Muhammadu Buhari administration, especially to benchmark it against the promises made by the administration in 2015 and 2019.
On the first day of the retreat, Buhari said he had met the yearnings of Nigerians, particularly on infrastructures and economic empowerment.
Meanwhile, Tinubu while speaking on how he would further progressive ideas of the party, said he would strengthen national unity and a sense of national purpose.
He also observed that these objectives had charactised the works of the Buhari administration.
He insisted that a Tinubu government would be devoted to providing the best of progressive governance, with the focus on further projecting and prospering the Nigerian people.
Tinubu, who pointed out that President Buhari’s administration had done much to keep faith with Nigerians, as well as giving life to the party’s promises to Nigerians and their objectives, however, noted that various unpleasant circumstances, both local and international, militated against its efforts.
