The Department of State Services, DSS, has reacted to the security alert issued by the United States Embassy that there could be possible terrorist attack in Abuja this week.

DAILY POST had reported that U.S. Mission in a terse statement on Sunday listed targets as government buildings, places of worship, schools, markets, shopping malls, hotels, and bars.

Reacting, the Service called for calm and urged Nigerians to be vigilant following the warnings.

It assured that it would work with other security agencies to maintain the peace and also appealed to Nigerians to assist security agencies with useful information regarding threats and suspicious criminal acts around them.

The statement reads, “The Department of State Services has received several enquiries relating to the security advisory issued by the US Embassy in Abuja, today, 23/10/22. The public may recall that the Service had variously issued similar warnings in the past.

”The Service calls for calm as it works with other law enforcement agencies and stakeholders to maintain peace and order in and beyond Abuja.”
