A group of former commissioners, lawmakers, local government special assistants, retired chairmen, advisers, among others, in the All Progressives Congress in Bauchi State have said they will not also defect to the ruling Peoples Democratic Party in the state like their gubernatorial aspirant, Mahmud Maijama’a.

The group, under the auspices of the Mahmud Maijama’a Steering Committee, said despite their aspirant’s defection, they would remain in the APC.

They pledged their support to the party’s gubernatorial candidate, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, a former Chief of Air Staff.

The Chairman of the Steering Committee, Garba Kore, made the group’s stance known at a press conference at the NUJ Secretariat in Bauchi on Monday.

Flanked by the Secretary of the group, Ibrahim Sade, a one-time Commissioner of Information, Tourism and Culture, Bauchi State, Kore expressed confidence that the APC gubernatorial candidate would defeat the incumbent governor, Bala Mohammed, in the next year’s election.
