The EP Osama is a project that explains the reality of a typical Warri boy, growing up in Warri as taught me to keep investing my time and energy in positivity because one day all I have planted will explode like a time bomb and the best metaphor to explain bombing is Osama 😊😊, Most of the project was recorded by myself in my sojourn apartment at South Africa, 2 in Made1 studios at South Africa and track 6 was recorded in my home studio in Nigeria.
I worked with 3 other producers to get these projects ready (BMI, Vince Kay and Danielbelivix), BMI and Danielbelivix mix & mastered the project, the Guitarist on track 6 is Paul Olagunju also known as Paulove.
Here in Nigeria most people call me Kcee the initial of my name “Kelechi” so I thought of what I can add to make it different from other Kelechi outside then I remembered I am dark in complexion so that’s how I came up with “Kcee Blaq”.
I’ll describe my music as a file that keeps information of where I am from, The struggle in Warri, the hustle in Lagos and the pain in Africa.
I don’t really have a writing process of writing All I do is listen to nature, open my mind and pay attention to every significant moment then boom!!! I have a song, then when I have a song or my lyrics intact the next thing I do is look for a beat that interprets the lyrics better and sometimes I might listen to the beat first then give my own interpretation of the music.
My inspiration to make music was when I noticed that I run to music more often than any other thing, even in my high school days the best way I could cram is to sing the passage. Expect things to get better daily from me, I have my album dropping soon this year.
