The Edo State Police Command says it has recovered about ten lifeless unidentified male bodies along a bush part in Ibillo- Lampese Road, Lagos – Abuja Expressway, Edo State.

A statement by the command’s spokesperson, SP Chidi Nwabuzor said the bodies were recovered on Tuesday after credible intelligence was made available to the operatives of the Ibillo Divisional Headquarters of the command.

The PPRO said upon the intelligence, the Divisional Police Officer, mobilized officers alongside hunters, and vigilantes to the scene where the bodies were recovered.

The statement revealed that a preliminary investigation was conducted and photographs of the dead bodies taken, stating that the corpses were searched and examined but there was no noticeable mark of violence or materials that may lead to identifying them.

“Investigation was also extended to the Fulani / Hausa Communities and the indigenous communities who came, examined corpses and declared that the dead bodies were not natives or their vigilantes.

“The dead bodies have since been deposited at the Ibillo General Hospital Mortuary for preservation and forensic investigation”, the statement added.
