Human rights activist and Convener of Concerned Nigerians, Deji Adeyanju has told Nigerians that free money and monthly salary are not enough.
He urged Nigerians to embark on businesses that would fetch them a regular income.
Adeyanju made this known on Saturday in a Facebook post on his verified account.
“Have a business that brings in daily income no matter how small. Free money is not sustainable. Salaries too cannot make you rich, start a business today”, he posted.
Data from the National Bureau of Statistics, Multidimensional Poverty Index Report, released recently showed that 133 million Nigerians still remain very poor, representing 65 percent of the entire population.
At the same time, Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product, GDP, recent reduction by 2.25 percent, also amplifies the worsening poverty situation of most citizens.
These economic indices point to the daily struggle of Nigerians.
