Nine passengers are feared dead after their vehicle plunged into Fada Dam in Gwarzo Local Government, Kano State.

Kano State Fire Service spokesman Saminu Yusuf Abdullahi confirmed the incident in a statement issued to DAILY POST on Monday.

He said the incident happened on Saturday at about 6.45 pm.

He explained that the accident happened when a Golf wagon car with 12 passengers came from Kano and headed for Katsina State.

According to the statement “The incident happened on Saturday, November 19, 2022. The state fire service received an emergency call through Ali Mai Faci, that at about 18:45 hours, a vehicle carrying twelve passengers plunged into Fada dam Gwarzo LGA.

“The accident occurred as a result of a faulty vehicle parked in the middle of the road without proper beckoning for motorists to take caution.”

He said nine persons died while three persons were rescued.
