The Labour Party (LP) in Kaduna State says the party in the state has remained an entity without any faction, as the 2023 general elections in the country draw closer.

Addressing newsmen in Kaduna, the state chairman of the party, Auwal Tafoki in the company of the gubernatorial candidate of the party, Jonathan Asake, other candidates and party stakeholders, said:

“It must be categorically made very clear that the state party is indeed an entity without any friction and remain so with a recognised leadership under the chairmanship of Alhaji Awwal Tafoki.

“It came to the notice of the state leadership of the Labour Party that Peter Hassan has been parading himself as the state chairman of the party, a role which is duly held by Awwal Tafoki, who was elected by the leadership of the party and remained so to date without any problem whatsoever.”

He stated that the state chairman’s election of the party and officials are recognized by both the leadership of the Kaduna State Labour Party and the national leadership of the party and have creditably been piloting the affairs of the party at the state level satisfactorily to the admiration of all.

He lamented that one Peter Hassan has been parading himself as the state chairman of the party and busy deceiving people by syphoning money from people with the intent to fund the running of the party in the state.

According to the chairman of the party in the state: “It is regrettable that Peter Hassan is a double agent, a two-faced politician who claims to be the chairman of the Labour Party in Kaduna State, yet stabs the party in the back and congregates with an unnamed opposition political party with the motive to achieve his evil act of destroying the goodwill and total acceptance the people of the state who have warmheartedly agreed with the aspirations of changing the narratives in this country at all levels which the party stands for.”

Auwal Tafoki added: “Peter Hassan also goes about soliciting for funds under the guise that they are meant for the Labour Party in Kaduna; giving our dear party a bad name. We all know that the Labour Party is built on integrity, equity and fairness and we cannot be caught begging for funds to fund our dream of taking over power both at the state level and national level that preaches inclusiveness and carrying everybody along on issues that affect everybody.”

He explained that from all indications and the way Peter Hassan parades himself, the party alleged that he is determined to cause havoc and destroy the wishes of the people of Kaduna State and Nigerians in giving Labour Party overwhelming support by ensuring the party takes over leadership in all levels of elective positions.
